Dom Gourlay @ groundbreaking online music community/zine/blog/forum, Drowned in Sound, has included us in his highlights round-up of last weekends Great Escape Festival in Brighton! Lovelylovely chap!

We had barrels of fun and ate chips and icecreams on the beach (separate occasions – together would be horrific) watched some incredible bands (Sky Larkin, Johnny Foreigner, Idlewild, Decimals to name but a few!) Met some incredible people, and caught up with some much-missed old friends that we rarely get to see.
Me and Liza also got locked out of the room that the rest of YA were staying in and had to sleep in a halway. nice.

NEW You Animals video diary installment on youtube now!

A couple of weeks ago, us animalz flew out to Milan to play a show at The Rocket with ace Italian band ‘She Loves’.
It was IMMENSE fun!

Whilst we were there, MATT exposed a previously unknown encyclopedic knowledge of Michael Jackson, STUART found a fellow Smiths enthusiast, Martin had blistered feet after apparently ‘grafting’ carrying all the gear, LIZA wanted to party FAR after everyone else had fallen over, MARK somehow met someone from Derby and found new skills as an early hours, illegal, smoking barman, and RYAN was quite scared of flying.

Hello!
This another little video made from stuff found on cameras that we filmed around xmas/newyear. We went to Paris to play a show at La Fleche D’or and stayed around for a few days to hang out with friends and stuff, did a bit of writing during the MAMMOTH (but picturesque) drives and got lots of noisy new ideas together. When we got back we went straight into the studio to record it all down before we forgot it all forever. The music you hear is bits from a few of those songs!
I love making these dumb films but dont often get any footage from shows (apart from me majestically falling over at the Courteeners Academy show!) so if anyone films anything from gigs or whatever, drop us a mail and we’ll use it all up like greedy pigs.

There are already couple of LOVELY YA  tees on there, all nice and designed by us! These are a limited run of the first tee designs and we wont be re-printing these designs in the future….

The first couple of handfuls of purchases will come with some you animals badges AND a hand packaged cd of early you animals demos and live recordings. nice!

hello! hope yr all well and good…

I HAVE to start updating this more often, thats a new years resolution right there…it’s not through laziness, i just get lost in a bloody maze of usernames and email addresses and passwords for myspace/facebook/youtube/this thing etc and it gives me a huge dull ache in the head!!

We animals have already been keeping our heads busy in the 27 days this year has coughed up so far. We recorded a batch of new songs at Snug Studio in derby with lords rob and rich which we’re well pleased with…i’m going in again on friday to finish some singing bits and possibley chuck beach boys style harmonies over EVERYTHING if the others will let me…we love that place, if you’re in a band go and record there. The only new song with a final-decided-upon title is called ’Western Bridge’ its beautiful ….dumb working titles for the others include ‘That James Bond One’, ’Ner ner ner ner’ and  ’Jangle Boogie’ …i secretly think a couple of those are keepers though ;)

We’re gonna start trying to book lots of shows and we’re forever making plans and scheming…we’ve recorded what we wholeheartedly intend to be our first single and it sounds mega! we’re really pleased with it. We recorded it in a place near Birmingham called Magic Garden Studios with a lovely man called Gavin Monaghan. Another lovely studio with lots of old and expensive analogue recording machinery and things that make crazy noises and famous speakers and stuff like that…im putting together a new video diary at the mo and there’s a few clips for anyone interested in that kind of thing!

We all went to Paris for a few days over christmas and we did a show at Le Fleche d’Or which was incredible, never been to paris before and it was a treat. They gave us pasta and chicken and lots of wine and were the perfect hosts. All did the usual christmassy stuff back in blighty like getting ill and bad hangovers and eating lots…went to the same old place on new years eve but it was real good fun!

We’ve got new t-shirts that we’re going to selling at shows….they are perfect! one is a giant cat monster with lazer eyes that Liza drew and there is a logo one that we designed too….i’ll try and put a pic up but again, my skills are lacking. We’ll try and sort out a way you can buy them online too…maybe through a paypal/myspace/email type scenario.

buying things on ebay is a big part of all of our lives at the moment.

RIGHT i’m off to take pictures of t-shirts!
